About the Cville Great Mother Fest
Join in celebrating common unity, wonder, regeneration, and Mother Earth at a 1 day festival at IX Art Park with live music, art making, wellness offerings, local food and beverage vendors, spoken word performances, and sharing in community.
Supporting the Great Mother March
The Great Mother March is a 32-day pilgrimage and empowerment movement in the United States that aims to bring people together in a walk from Asheville, North Carolina, to Washington, D.C. in spring 2026. Help us welcome and celebrate these marchers as they stop in Charlottesville.
Event Highlights
-
The IX main stage comes alive at Great Mother Fest with musical performances by Downbeat Project, Tomato Moon, Ysa, and more. Also enjoy Inspiration Conversations, front-porch-style dialogue with local thought leaders like Susan Bauer-Wu, restorative storytelling by Joia Wood, and acrobatics by Santiago Pinto.
-
Get hands-on at the Creation Station, where you can craft magic wands with The Scrappy Elephant, make bracelets, learn to knit, and contribute to a live art installation. All ages are welcome, come as you are and leave with something you made!
-
Check back for info. Expect local healers, crystal charging, and more.
-
Fuel up at the fest with food trucks on-site, or pop into Bad Luck Ramen or Brazos Tacos for a sit-down bite right at IX Art Park. Wash it all down at the full bar, stocked with local wine, beer, and spirits!

The Great Mother March
An Empowerment Pilgrimage for Those Who Believe the Way Forward Is Together.
-
It’s time for a return to balance. The Monks who are walking from Texas to D.C. & The Great Mother March are an example of “multiple discoveries,” independently inspired and harmonious in intention, to encourage meaningful human connection at a pace that allows us to connect, share, co-create & heal.
-
Over the course of 32 days, we will embark on 500-mile, sacred journey to reweave the connection between people and the planet, arriving in unity on Earth Day 2026 in Washington DC.
-
BE the change… One step at a time, face to face, heART to heART, we will move through 32 communities in rural NC and VA to embody the archetype of the Great Mother: unconditional love, unity, compassion, creativity and our shared humanity.
